Summary

This vacancy is for a Trade and Industry Analyst in the Defense Industrial Base Division (DIB), Office of Strategic Industries and Economic Security (SIES), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration (EA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) within the Department of Commerce.

Duties

As a Trade and Industry Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Independently prepare formal written products and briefings that summarize analytical results, supply chain insights, and industry trends for internal decision makers; coordinate survey administration with internal stakeholders and provide support for program operations. Collect, verify, and analyze a wide range of relevant industry information from reliable sources, ensuring that all trade and industry data is accurate and thoroughly checked for validity and complying with legal and confidentiality standards. Conduct independent sector analyses examining industry structure, market conditions, supply chain configurations, domestic capabilities, and foreign competition. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data, detect trends and risks, and synthesize results into larger analyses. Liaise with internal stakeholders to coordinate survey planning and administration, as well as to resolve inquiries related to data collection. Prepare formal written reports and briefings that communicate findings on competitiveness, supply chain assurance, and trade / geoeconomic risks. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Trade and Industry Analyst, GS-1101-12, Full Performance Level (FPL) GS-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Requirements

You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs.
