Summary
This position is located in the Risk Management Agency (RMA), Deputy Administrator for Insurance Services (DAIS), Davis, CA, Risk Management Region which serves the States of Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. The incumbent will report to the Associate Deputy Administrator for Insurance Services.
Duties
Directs and manages the Regional Office, utilizing skills which promote a results-driven corporate culture which serves customers, builds talent within subordinate workforce and coordinates with peer development managers.
Develops, implements, and promotes multiple peril crop insurance (MPCI) as a key component of agricultural risk management theories and strategies, and provide liaison with educational and marketing industries.
Acts as a regional clearinghouse to provide customer service, assistance, problem identification and resolution or referral to higher agency officials within Insurance Services for timely guidance and direction.
Works collaboratively with Risk Management Services Division to address underwriting or claims issues and problems outside published regulations, policies, handbooks, standards, and manager bulletins.
Be the primary person responsible for establishing and maintaining working relationships with other government agencies, constituents, congressional representatives, insurance industry personnel, and third-party influencers.
Works collaboratively with Risk Management Services Division to assess local crop insurance program performance and conduct outreach and education.
Requirements
You must be a US Citizen or US National. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt. Subject to one year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable. New FPAC supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period. Required to submit Confidential Financial Disclosure Report Form OGE-450 within 30 days of your initial appointment date, and annually thereafter. This position is designated as mobile work. Mobile work is a condition of employment and is characterized by routine and regular travel to conduct work in customer or other worksites as opposed to a single authorized alternative worksite.
