Summary

The Associate Chief Nurse Community Base Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) is responsible for the oversite of clinical care and management of nursing personnel working in the five CBOC's.

Duties

This position completes a range of duties that include, but are not limited to: Functions as an administrator, educator, and consultant in the use of nursing theory for collaborative for daily clinical and administrative operations for the Community Base Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). Establishes respectful relationships with Veterans, Providers, and nursing staff at all levels Completes performance assessments on staff in e-performance based on outcome measures and delivery of overall position responsibilities including patient care Ensures managers are completing appropriate time and attendance monitoring daily Assists in completion of bi-weekly payroll Collaborates with Interdisciplinary Team Meetings within all the CBOCs, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network. Ensures daily management and unit huddles occur for optimal communication at all five CBOC's Monitors and creates an action plans as necessary for patient care indicators such as fall rate, hospital acquired skin injury and infection control using evidence-based practice. Works collaboratively with the Associate Director, Patient Care Services, ACNS peers, and coworkers. Maintains professional personal conduct and ensures the workplace is free of behaviors that could be perceived as hostile or harassing. Monitors performance and outcome criteria in relationship to the Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation and other federal agencies to ensure compliance with all standards Holds advanced knowledge and experience with quality indicators and acute stay criteria Functions as a primary care nurse on the unit if necessary Able to respond timely and appropriately to designated timelines, participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and chair hospital wide committees as appropriate VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (Subject to change based on facility needs) Telework: Ad-hoc at Supervisor's discretion Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Requirements
