Summary

The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as the Deputy Chief, Imaging Service. This leadership position plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services that directly enhance the care of our Nation's Veterans. The Deputy Chief serves as a key member of the Imaging Service leadership team.

Duties

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT & will remain open until November 13, 2026 or until positions are filled. The Deputy Chief, Imaging Service duties include but are not limited to the following: Daily work/ administrative assignments as assigned by Chief of the Imaging Service. The Deputy Chief shall be the primary supervisor for the Imaging Physician Staff, including reviewing eperformance, RVU and productivity goals. Working with Imaging Technical Staff and organizing the radiologist's clinical rotation schedule. Participate and be involved in the Tumor Board Schedule. Update SOP's and check lists when indicated. Oversee the MRI /LDCT/ Mammography LIP programs as assigned by Service Chief. Inventory management. Ensures the Internal Peer Reviews program is monitored, and addresses issues identified. Ensures the On-going Provider Performance Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Provider Performance Evaluation (FPPE) processes are in place and utilized to evaluate radiologist performance. Over-site of the Imaging Service CBOC's radiologic administrative/ clinical needs. Shall be the backup and the subject matter expert for Imaging Service Chief. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm with rotating on call duty and holidays. Telework: Ad-Hoc (Occasional or Irregular basis) Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Requirements

Education

Applicants must possess a doctor of podiatric medicine degree, or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in podiatric medicine and surgery. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are United States schools of podiatric medicine and surgery, approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education of the American Podiatry Medical Association in the year in which the degree was granted. Note: Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.
