Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Microbiologist, you will: Conduct microbiological analyses and laboratory investigations using advanced microbiological and molecular techniques to identify, characterize, and evaluate pathogenic microorganisms in support of public health and scientific research. Plan and perform scientific studies by adapting laboratory methods, conducting experiments, processing specimens, maintaining chain of custody, evaluating data quality, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and laboratory safety requirements. Analyze and document scientific findings by operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, interpreting experimental data, preparing technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations, and supporting publication of research results. Provide scientific expertise and collaboration by communicating research findings, consulting with internal and external partners, responding to technical inquiries, and training personnel on laboratory procedures, equipment, and best practices.
