As a Market Research Data Analyst, you will support the continued expansion of market research as a service. Location of position: Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Customer Market Research Service Center. We are currently filling two vacancies, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
This position can be located in any of the following locations: Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Fort Worth, TX; Kansas City, MO; Lakewood, CO; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; and Tacoma, WA. The Federal Acquisition Services (FAS), Customer Market Research Service Center leverages research and analytics and in-depth knowledge of prior market research; defines and identifies suppliers, their capabilities, and their contacts; and provides a comprehensive market research report, including contract suggestions and socioeconomics. As a Market Research Data Analyst, you will be responsible for performing the following duties: Provide advice and expertise to managers on using data and research findings to prepare strategic market research plans. Conduct research and analysis on the market, selected strategic accounts, new business opportunities, and trend and spend analysis using available data sources and contractor support when necessary. Identify patterns in data and convert raw data and other research findings into usable analysis and make recommendations for a wide range of clients and purposes. Leverage understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to automate high-volume, repetitive, and rule-based digital tasks. Leverage understanding of the UiPath platform for data entry, extraction, system migration, report generation, and automated customer service communications. Conduct studies of customer needs and private sector vendors who compete in the same product space as the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). Prepare and conduct briefings for various stakeholders, including higher level management, to explain analysis of market research trends, provide recommendations or action plans, and propose guidance and direction for implementation of recommendations. Develop new market research principles and techniques to effectively access targeted industry audiences. Develop guidelines and standards regarding data analysis, evaluation, and presentation in order to maximize the usefulness of this data to various clients.
Requirements
If selected, you must meet the following conditions: Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or NonCareer SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office. Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service. Serve a one year probationary period, if required. Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level). Have your identity and work status eligibility verified if you are not a GSA employee. We will use the Department of Homeland Security's e-Verify system for this. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of continued employment.
How you will be evaluated
A panel of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will review the application of qualified candidates and assign a score for each of the five required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) based on the experience documented in the resume and narrative responses. Knowledge of market research theories, policies, practices, and techniques required to serve as an expert on market research issues. Skill in creating and building connections between different software applications and platforms to ensure a seamless flow of data. Knowledge of generative AI to analyze diverse data sources, and produce detailed reports and visual dashboards. Skill in communicating, negotiating, and expressing technical concepts and ideas, orally and in writing, through formal presentations to present and interpret research findings. Skill in developing new theories or hypotheses in the field of research, to identify the root causes of suboptimal market research efforts, and formulate innovative solutions. Demonstration of these KSAs must be supported by your application. Applicants should also make note of each KSA, as you will be asked to address them later in the application process.
