Summary
The Management and Program Analyst serves as the Cancer Program Manager in a large, complex VA Medical Center with medical and surgical oncology services and a research program affiliated with a major medical school. The work of the position supports the care and treatment given to patients with malignant conditions and certain benign central nervous system (CNS) tumors.
Duties
The duties of the Management and Program Analyst include but are not limited to: Plans and develops priorities, standards and working guides, and recommends policy changes. Submits recommendations for changes to simplify operations, reduce patient inconvenience, improve efficiency and quality of operations. Establishment of operating procedures, guidance documents, and reporting procedure for all cancer related programs. Communicates with a wide variety of professionals, Program Managers, and Service Chiefs either written or orally using extensive understanding of applicable medical terminology as it relates to diagnosis, staging, classification and treatment of cancer. Provides oversight of any data submission, performs auditing activities, patient record editing if required based on State, National, VA National Oncology Data Program/ VA Central Cancer Registry (VACCR) requirements, and CoC standards. Designs, oversees, and conducts audits of the case ascertainment and data curation processes to ensure high quality complex data, accurate work, productivity expectations, and compliance with guidelines Preferred Experience: Interpreting and managing cancer program data.
