This Lead Transportation Assistant position is located in the Travel Section of the Business Office at the White River Junction VA Healthcare System in White River Junction, Vermont. The position is full time, at 40 hours per week.
Duties
The incumbent works with the Supervisor on workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation, and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Travel Service(VTS) Support Services Program. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Assists with planning and directing programs that provide Veteran Travel Service(VTS) support services. Provides advisory services to internal and external customers. Coordinates day to day program flow, processes and functions of the Beneficiary Travel Self Service System (BTSSS), electronic Claims Adjudication Management System (eCAMS), and VetRide scheduling software . Provides technical and management guidance necessary to achieve optimum use of service resources. Collect, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information to support Veterans Transportation Service (VTS). Receives and verifies accuracy and completeness of workload. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track progress, milestones, performance measures, clinic trends as it pertains to health and travel benefits. Uses Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture (VistA, Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS), eCAMS, Beneficiary Travel Self Service System (BTSSS), or SharePoint Consult/Request Tracking System to process internal consultations. Plans and provides support services for program areas. The employee is knowledgeable of overall facility and network goals, missions, and priorities to ensure that patient transportation supports other programs. Incumbent must have an extensive knowledge of VA laws, directives, policies and procedures, incumbent must have a strong attention to detail as related to VA healthcare and Beneficiary Travel. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Telework: Ad-hoc. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. This position is covered by locality-based comparability pay. The incumbent may be required to travel to other VA campuses and CBOC's on occasion. Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50, (Notice of Personnel Action). The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held. Interchange Agreements with Other Merit System: Employees who occupy medical or medical-related positions and were appointed under 38 U.S.C. 4701(1) or (3) [formerly 38 U.S.C. 4104 (1) and (3) must be serving in a full-time position without time limit and have served continuously for at least one year in this other merit system to be eligible to convert to the Title 5 System. Some exceptions to this rule may apply if you have previously acquired tenure under a Title 5 appointment.
