Duties

At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: The Integrated Resources Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the natural and cultural resource division at Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. The park maintains a suite of historic buildings from the Klondike Gold Rush, some of which are leased properties, trails including the Chilkoot National Historic Trail, the historic Dyea Townsite, the White Pass Trail unit and a campground. This position provides management expertise and support to the superintendent and other division managers in all aspects of resource management to include, but not limited to: historic buildings and structures; National Historic Landmarks; biological resources; archeological resources; museum management, project planning and PMIS, and tribal consultation. The incumbent ensures coordination of all routine and special project work between branches and provides divisional long-range planning and budget development, plans special projects, and oversees the park's compliance programs to ensure compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and National Historic Preservation Act. The position serves as a member of the park's management team. The incumbent is actively involved in decisions affecting overall park management policy and operations and contributes to the development and implementation of park management documents. Monitors and evaluates programs and operations to ensure compliance with, and application of, approved management direction.

As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period to evaluate your fitness and whether your continuation of employment advances the public interest. This probationary or trial period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service. Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized. In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period or trial period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. This is a supervisory position that may require completion of a supervisory probationary period.

Education

This position has a mandatory education requirement depending on which series you choose to be condiered eligible under. Transcripts must include your name, school name, grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, and date the degree was conferred, if applicable.
