Duties

Coordinates the Bureau of Prison's (BOP) Senior Executive Service (SES) by maintaining records of personnel actions; ensuring vacant positions are advertised; composing written justifications for selections, performance awards and new positions; advising SES employees regarding personnel actions and governmental policies affecting them. Provides expert guidance on the development of SES performance work plans to ensure the plans are results oriented, measurable and appropriately linked to the agency and Bureau goals. Serves as liaison with the Department of Justice (DOJ), other DOJ components, non-DOJ agency officials and non-governmental organizations on sensitive matters that require extensive background knowledge, and/or require considerable preparation time. Collects and analyzes data and coordinates fact-finding efforts which serve as a basis to support the HR management needs of the BOP. Serves as the coordinator in the development of nationwide HR management policy and procedure and assists in reviewing draft policy from other divisions and from regulatory agencies to address impact.
