About the Position: The primary function is tosupport the identification, evaluation, and treatment of historic built environment. Performs field and office duties to ensure built-environment resources are given full consideration under the National Historic Preservation Act in a Civil Works program of planning, design, construction, operation, and permit evaluation, and Navigation project assignments.
Duties
Performs field and office duties to ensure built-environment resources are given full consideration in a Civil Works program of planning, design, construction, operation, and permit evaluation, and Navigation project assignments.
Serves as lead technical specialist for assigned projects, managing all aspects of projects to conclusion and in compliance with National Historic Preservation Act, National Environmental Protection Act, or other laws, regulations, and policy.
Serves as a staff expert in addressing historic structures and building historic preservation concerns related to Corps civil works, operations and navigation programs.
Assists project managers and Operation mangers in standard agency coordination procedures for the initiation of a study; conveys plans, alternatives, and recommendations; and requests required environmental impact information.
