Summary

This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Program Support Division. As a Financial Systems Analyst (Information Systems Security Officer), you will analyze the technical decisions made by ISS and other Subject Matter Experts (SME) and document the security posture of an application appropriately.

Duties

As a Financial Systems Analyst (Information Systems Security Officer), you will: Analyze guidance and policy provided by ISS Security in support of cybersecurity for applications within the Fiscal Accounting portfolio. Coordinate cybersecurity activities to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of financial systems and to minimize the risk of unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. Designate as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for their application(s) and provide support to the supervisor and branch manager. Ensure all processes and procedures associated with system security are documented according to ISS Security guidance. Seek updates and collaborate with technical SMEs on technical matters for inclusion in security documentation. Collaborate with technical SMEs on security implications of new upgrades and modules of the financial systems and analyze the results provided by ISS Security regarding the risk impact and additional security steps needed.

Requirements

All newly appointed employees to the competitive service are subject to a probationary period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
