The primary purpose of this position is to provide financial management services to all personnel, programs, support missions, associates, and external customers for the Air Force Material Command.
Duties
- Forecasts, allocates and interprets comprehensive financial data for both various appropriations, reports and statements, variance analyses, Requests for Information (RFIs) and financial trend analyses about the budget and programs of assigned organizations. Provides authoritative financial analysis and guidance for one or more future budget years to inform decision-making by leadership. - Serves as a consultant and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in financial management to functional experts and/or agency officials responsible for program operations. Provides management officials with decision support related to the impact(s) of financial transactions and budgetary changes on program solvency and viability in changing environments. - Effectively prepares, assembles and conveys information in support of formal presentations of budgets, RFIs and formal reviews with higher echelons. Ensures the final products meet stated objectives and are timely, complete, logical, properly documented, and of professional quality. - Evaluates, advises and assembles background data on the impacts of pending and current Congressional, OMB, DOD, USAF and Comptroller General decisions and recommends courses of action. Accurately compiles and summarizes narrative information and quantitative budget-related data in accordance with prescribed procedures and regulations. - Uses data analysis tools (ie AFM, FMSuite, CRIS, PBES, PowerBI) to streamline processes and/or eliminate manual data pulls. Performs trend analysis and uses outcomes to advise on best approach to budget drills, shorten business process timelines, eliminate non value added work, inform leadership decisions, and make every dollar count in support of the Warfighter mission.
