Summary

The purpose of the position is to serve as a trainee position to the full-performance level GS-1173-09 Housing Management Specialist. In this trainee position, the incumbent will assist with developmental aspects of the park's housing programs.

Duties

The major duties of the Housing Management Specialist position include, but are not limited to: Ensure timely implementation of rental rate changes; communicate those changes to tenants, and ensure payroll deductions are updated accordingly. Maintain accurate financial data through central financial management systems and maintain historical record of rental rates and rate increases in a housing program. Work as a team member with facility maintenance staff to assist and help coordinate the contracted and in-house maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of a large inventory of housing occupied both year-round and seasonally. GS-09: Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to manage housing related contracts including construction contracts for repair and rehabilitation of housing facilities. GS-09: Receive complaints and work to resolve complex tenant issues such as personal disputes between neighbors or co-occupants, issues related to pet policies, noise complaints etc.

You must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program. *Additional Requirements located under qualifications*
