This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties
You will handle hazardous waste operations, storage, disposal, labeling, marking of regulated waste, chemical characterization, disposal procedures, record keeping, sampling techniques, and hazardous substance incident response.
You will perform environmental protection duties related to the management and disposal of regulated waste [i.e. Hazardous Waste (HW), Universal Wastes (UW), State Regulated Wastes (SRW), and other Regulated Soil Waste (RGW)].
You will perform spill cleanups under the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) programs, Facility Response Plan, Public Works Contingency Plan, and Incident Response Plan.
You will prepare uniform HW manifests, shipping documents, land disposal restriction forms, and/or bill of lading for transporting material/waste over public highways as required by laws, regulations, and policies.
You will inspect containers for structural integrity, accumulation dates, proper identification markings, and transportability; inspect contents to ensure compliance with regulations.
You will physically transfer wastes from one container/pack to another, as required due to deteriorated containers or incompatible wastes.
You will drive a motor vehicle and operate a forklift; thus, driver license and forklift operator license must be required and maintained.
You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment and across functional boundaries.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
