This vacancy is for a GS-0301-13, Cultural and Historic Resource Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT -CG-47 in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.

Duties

You will serve as a/an Cultural and Historic Resource Specialist and will be responsible for advising and assisting the US Coast Guard Resource Program Manager with regards to compliance with historic and cultural resource management mandates. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Perform planning, budgeting, directing and coordinating historical resource management activities for Coast Guard programs and projects to ensure compliance with historic preservation law and policies. Develops long-range natural resources management for facilities and resources to support preservation goals and future program needs. Write materials and makes presentations on historical topics for leadership, agencies, and the public to communicate historical information clearly and accurately. Responds to inquiries from public, government agencies, and agency personnel related to historical matters. Researches, evaluates, and documents historic agency resources to nominate to the National Register of Historic Places and support preservation efforts.
